Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts (LACSD), On-Call Land Surveying and Mapping Services

Guida is currently serving as an on-call land surveying services consultant to the Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts in support of projects associated with sewer facilities throughout the Districts’ service area. The wastewater system includes approximately 1,400 miles of sewers, 49 active pumping plants, and 11 wastewater treatment plants. The scope of services under this three year on-call contract includes control and topographic design surveys, aerial photogrammetric mapping and digital orthophotography, boundary and right of way surveys, legal descriptions and plats, construction surveys, and as-built mapping. Guida is providing as-needed land surveying and mapping services on various task order projects including trunk sewer and manhole rehabilitation and construction projects.

The first task order included the development of topographic mapping and digital orthophotography for a portion of Bullis Road from Lynwood Road to Cortland Road, and the collection and identification of approximately 15 sewer manholes along the Bullis Road to Temple Road Trunk Sewer Line. The topographic mapping was tied into County benchmarks and delivered in the District’s MicroStation and InRoads CAD standard.  The digital orthophotography was captured with Guida’s Phantom 4 UAV system and tied into the horizontal and vertical controls established for the project.

Each of the 15 manholes were opened, detailed measurements taken, and sketches created to delineate the findings.  These sketches along with photos of the manholes were integrated with the topographic data and existing as built sewer plans for a final manhole sketch to be used by the design engineers.

On a second task order, Guida provided UAV digital orthophotography, topographic surveys, and sewer manhole details for a portion of Mountain View Road and Peck Road in the city of El Monte, County of Los Angeles.

On a third task order, Guida is providing topographic surveys and mapping for the Sunflower Trunk Sewer Rehabilitation Project. Services include Aerial photogrammetric mapping and digital orthophotography, topographic surveys, and sewer manhole details for various street locations along the Sunflower Trunk Sewer Line in the city of San Dimas in the County of Los Angeles.

On a fourth task order, Guida is providing topographic surveys and mapping for the Douglas Trunk Sewer Rehabilitation Project. Services include Aerial photogrammetric mapping and digital orthophotography, topographic surveys, and sewer manhole details for various street locations along the Douglas Trunk Sewer Line in the city of East Los Angeles in the County of Los Angeles.
